names Pennsylvania's top lawyers as chosen by their peers. The list of Lawyers is based on surveys of more
than 23,000 lawyers across Pennsylvania
Alan Papernick, senior partner in the law firm of Papernick & Gefsky,
has been named in the national publication, The Best Lawyers in America, one of the nation’s finest
lawyers. Mr. Papernick is one of very few attorneys in the United States
who has been recognized as one of the “Best Lawyers” for over ten consecutive years.
The Best Lawyers In America has become universally regarded as the definite guide to legal excellence
in the United States. Eligibility for inclusion in the publication is based upon
an exhaustive peer-review survey. Since lawyers are not required or allow to pay a fee to be listed
and since less than two percent of lawyers nationwide are recognized, an attorney’s
inclusion in The Best Lawyers In America is a singular honor.
The Million Dollar Advocates Forum is recognized as the most
prestigious group of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership is limited to attorneys
who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts, awards and settlements. The organization
was founded in 1993 and there are approximately 2000 members throughout the United States. Forum
membership acknowledges excellence in advocacy, and provides members with a network of experienced
colleagues for referral and information exchange in major cases. Members must have acted as principal
counsel in at least one case in which their client has received a verdict, award or settlement in the
amount of one million dollars or more.
Mr. Merchant is a graduate of Duquesne University School of Law. His practice concentrates in
commercial litigation, personal injury and real estate. Papernick & Gefsky has been recognized for its high
professional legal standards and ethics in the 2002 Bar Register
of Preeminent Lawyers 85th Edition. The register is limited to
only the most distinguished law practices; those that have
achieved the AV rating in the Martindale-Hubble Law Directory. The "A" signifies the highest level of legal ability,
while the "V" denotes "very high" adherence

diligence.
